In the heart of Frankfurt's Old Town, right near the Römer and surrounded by museums and galleries, lies Margarete – a place characterized by urban flair and warm hospitality. Our philosophy is simple: We want you to have a great time with us! Whether as guests in the bistro, while shopping in the Magazin, or when planning your event with us.

Quality products, good food and a good time!

We represent modern, down-to-earth cuisine that combines classic dishes with new ideas. We prioritize transparency and quality – you can watch us at work in our open kitchen. We source our ingredients primarily from local producers whom we know and appreciate personally. This close collaboration ensures an authentic taste that you can feel in each of our dishes.

MARGARETE'S TASTING MENU

Every month, we select your highlights from the 10-course live! evenings with Simon and our kitchen team. The most popular dishes make it onto our monthly Margarete tasting menu. Five small courses to choose from, prepared in open kitchen. Sometimes surprising, always delicious.

COOKING WITH ALCOHOL

We head to Margarete's bar and grab a few bottles to bring into the kitchen. Then we marinate, deglaze, braise, flambé and smoke. Simon whips up six courses from the bistro counter, and we're pleasantly surprised by the delicate flavours and exciting tastes. We're starting with gin on 13 April – the first evening has 20 places available.

OYSTER BRETAGNE!

In April and October, the bistro will be serving up delicious, fresh Atlantic delicacies. Fines de Claire oysters – classic with lemon or vinaigrette, homemade bien sûr. Start with a pastis on ice, and finish with three kinds of macarons for dessert. Voilà! Tickets are now available online.
